Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Stranger Things characters team up in new toy line

Last year, Playmates joined forces with the Netflix streaming service to create a toy line that paired the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with characters from the popular Netflix series Cobra Kai. Playmates and Netflix are at it again, now releasing a toy line in which the Ninja Turtles team up with characters from the hit show Stranger Things! Exclusive to Target, these sets go for the price of $39.99 and the first two that are going up for pre-order pair Leonardo with Eleven and Raphael with Hopper. “Each 6-inch figure will include character specific accessories.”

ComicBook.com reports,

Playmates’ Stranger Things Upside Down Remix will be a limited edition action figure collection that pairs up the monster-hunting heroes from Hawkins, Indiana, with the pizza-loving crime-fighters from New York City’s sewers.

TMNT Figure accessories include twin katana for Leonardo, twin sai for Raphael, along with portable cassette players and waffle-throwing stars. Stranger Things character accessories include a backpack, walkie-talkie, and flashlight for Eleven and a spiked bat, axe, handgun and flashlight for Hopper.

Images of the figures can be seen below. Another set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles / Stranger Things team up figures will be released next February and will pair Donatello with Lucas and Michelangelo with Dustin.

The images show that the Eleven and Hopper toys will be sporting outfits the characters wore in Stranger Things season 3. If the images make you wonder why Leonard and Raphael don’t have different color bandanas, that’s because these figures are meant to look like the way the Turtles were portrayed on the covers of the early comic books by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, where they all had red bandanas.
