There was a time when I used to spend up to twenty hours a week in various arcades playing as much Tekken Tag Tournament as I possibly could. I actually played in a couple of tournaments too (unfortunately I never could ride Yoshi past the semis), so I feel like I have some kind of authority to say that the upcoming big-screen adaptation of TEKKEN is not going to be accurate at all. Thankfully though, that has nothing to do with the quality of the film, so hopefully there’ll be some salvation there. ComingSoon snagged the poster which you can check out BELOW. As you can see it’s just a big ‘T’. So if huge letters does it for you, go nuts. I’ve got to assume we’ll be getting another one down the line.
The words at the top, read: “After the Great Terror Wars, governments fell… Seven corporations rose from the ashes to rule all men… Together they were known as The Iron Fist… The mightiest of which was… Tekken.” Yeah, that’s where the accuracy goes out of the window.
The plot of the film allegedly centers on two childhood friends who enter a worldwide martial arts tournament. As they progress, the pals move toward uncovering a secret that lies within the mysterious Tekken Corp. I’ve heard that those two pals will be the characters Jin (obvious) and Christie (not so much), but the source is completely unproven, so take that as purely rumor for the moment. Oh and maybe Christie was more obvious than I first thought.
