Terminator alumn William Wisher wants to pen fifth & sixth films?!

The last we heard from the world of TERMINATOR the franchise had finally been saved by Pacifor. Well that’s awesome…. but what now??

I’ve actually got a few TERMINATOR updates lined up for you guys so try and stay with me. According to Deadline Hollywood William Wisher has already thrown together a treatment for not only the fifth film, but the sixth as well! Recognize Wisher’s name? He’s the guy who teamed with Mr. James Cameron to pen TERMINATOR and TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY. Oh yeah, that guy!

Now let me point out that Wisher isn’t the official screenwriter or anything, hell the films are in limbo thanks to the mess the franchise is in. This is just a TERMINATOR alumn wanting to get back into the game in hopes his treatments turn some heads, which I’m sure they will. Deadline Hollywood got a chance to read both the 24 page treatment for T5 and the 4 page concept outline for T6:

“I think Wisher has done a terrific job with a plot that accepts the storylines from Jonathan Mostow’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and McG’s Terminator: Salvation. Most interestingly, he turns the story back to the core characters and time travel storyline of the first two films that Wisher crafted with Cameron.”

In other TERMINATOR news it seems Lionsgate and Sony might get a crack at the franchise after all… Variety are reporting that Pacifor are getting a lot of interest from several Hollywood studios, a couple of which are Lionsgate and Sony! It seems neither studio were close to making any acceptable offers to Pacifor though so it’s still completely up in the air as to who will be bringing us the next TERMINATOR film.
