Terminator: Dark Fate Blu-ray and Digital home release details announced

After a decidely disappointing debut in theaters, Paramount Pictures has announced that TERMINATOR: DARK FATE is set to arrive on Digital come January 14, 2020 with Exclusive Bonus Content, while Blu-ray and 4K Combo Packs will hit shelves on January 28th with Deleted Scenes, Behind-the-Scenes Footage and more!

From producer James Cameron and director Tim Miller (DEADPOOL), TERMINATOR: DARK FATE is set decades after Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) prevented Judgment Day, when a lethal new Terminator is sent to eliminate the future leader of the resistance. In a fight to save mankind, battle-hardened Sarah teams up with an unexpected ally (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and an enhanced super soldier to stop the deadliest Terminator yet. Humanity's fate hangs in the balance as the fight for the future rages on.

As per Paramount's official press release:

The Digital, 4K Ultra HD, and Blu-ray releases are packed with over an hour of bonus content, including deleted and extended scenes, in-depth featurettes taking fans through the process of reimagining the world after Judgment Day, a look at the climactic final showdown, and a visual effects breakdown.

In addition, the Digital release will include access to two more featurettes and previz sequences showcasing how the action was planned out prior to filming.  Plus, select digital platforms will offer film commentary by director Tim Miller and editor Julian Clarke, as well as an introduction and commentary on the deleted scenes.

Despite only making $260.5 million at the worldwide box office, and underwhelming most fans of the franchise, I will assuredly be picking up my very own copy of TERMINATOR: DARK FATE when it hits 4K Blu-ray this coming January. It's my philosophy that if you have interest in seeing a movie, you should do so, as your opinion is ultimately the one that matters most. Could this purchase end up biting me in the ass? Sure, but I'm willing to take the risk. The Terminator franchise has been a part of my life for as long as I can recall, and I'll be damned if there's a sequel starring Schwarzenegger and Hamilton that remains ignored.
