Terrifier 3 teaser trailer brings Art the Clown home for the holidays

Earlier this month, Terrifier 2 – which was a massive hit when it was released last year, earning $15.1 million at the box office on a budget of $250,000 – was given a theatrical re-release where the film was accompanied by a teaser for the follow-up Terrifier 3, which is set to receive a theatrical release on October 25, 2024. Now that teaser, which reveals that Terrifier 3 is set around Christmastime, has made its way online and can be seen in the embed above!

A plot synopsis hasn’t been shared for Terrifier 3 just yet, but we do know that David Howard Thornton will be reprising the role of Art the Clown, while Lauren LaVera will be back as Terrifier 2 heroine Sienna. Damien Leone, who wrote and directed both previous Terrifier movies, is back at the helm for this one. He has said that he wants to return to the “creep factor” of the original short film he made with the Art the Clown character in it, while also recapturing the tone of the first Terrifier movie. Terrifier 3 will be less mystical than the second film was, and will also come in under that film’s 138 minute running time.

Terrifier 3 is actually the fourth feature with Art the Clown in it. Before making Terrifier, Leone introduced the character in short films that were included in the 2013 horror anthology All Hallows’ Eve.

Terrifier 2 had the following synopsis: After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to Miles County where he must hunt down and destroy a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.  As the body count rises, the siblings fight to stay alive while uncovering the true nature of Art’s evil intent.

Thornton and LaVera were joined in the cast by Elliott Fullam (Instinct), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Tamara Glynn (Halloween 5), Samantha Scaffidi (American Fango), Griffin Santopietro (Cobra Kai), and Chris Jericho (Killroy Was Here).
