James Wan has certainly carved out quite the sizeable horror empire for himself, in addition to THE CONJURING and SAW franchises, there's also INSIDIOUS, which finds all manner of horrific demons seeping over to our world from a nightmarish realm known as the Further. A fourth film is now less than a month away, and INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY puts the spotlight on Dr. Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye), one of the few characters to appear in every INSIDIOUS film. The brilliant parapsychologist is brought back into the fold when she faces her most personal challenge yet: a haunting in her family home.
I found the first INSIDIOUS film to be quite effective, the second less so, and I haven't gotten around to watching the third, but I'd be lying if some of the creepy visuals in the latest TV spot for INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY didn't get to me, particularly the key-fingered creature. With THE LAST KEY looking to expand the INSIDIOUS mythology even further, it seems that Blumhouse would like to keep the franchise trucking for as long as they can. Are you ready for more INSIDIOUS?
