Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D teaser art reveals Summer 2012 release date

Nu Image is currently at the Cannes Film Festival promoting THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D. The title was previously reported to be LEATHERFACE 3D, but the new teaser poster art – pictured to the right – reveals otherwise.

More interesting than that is the fact that the artwork promotes a Summer 2012 U.S. theatrical release. Of course, nothing is set in stone, but that’s what they’re aiming for. Otherwise, there’s not much to see other than the fact that they boast that the picture is from the producers of SAW 3D.

The film is currently casting is currently casting for a June start in Louisiana. John Luessenhop (TAKERS) is attached to direct from a script by Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus, Stephen Susco, Kirsten Elms and Luessenhop.

The story, a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE,  reportedly revolves around a girl who travels to Texas with her friends to collect an inheritance, only to discover that her cousin is none other than Leatherface.
