The Batman: Robert Pattinson says people will be shocked at how different it is

Although Ben Affleck played Batman in several films, he was never given the chance to appear in a standalone Batman movie; in fact, we haven’t had a true Batman movie since The Dark Knight Rises a decade ago. That’s all set to change in just one month with the release of The Batman, but Robert Pattinson says that the film won’t be what we’re expecting.

While speaking with Total Film (via Games Radar), Robert Pattinson teased just how different The Batman will be to the other Batman films.

When I saw it the first time, even from the first shot, it does feel incredibly different, tonally, to the other movies,” he says. “And it’s so strange, and kind of… It’s sad, and quite touching. It’s a really, really unusual Batman story, and it almost seems harder for me to imagine it being a series afterwards. I mean, they always have that little bit at the end, that’s like: ‘…and coming up!’ But other than that, it feels strangely personal. I think people will be quite shocked at how different it is.

While nothing is official just yet, it’s expected that The Batman will lay the foundations for future movies. Robert Pattinson has previously teased that he has a plan for how Bruce Wayne’s psychology will evolve. “I’ve made a kind of map for where Bruce’s psychology would grow over two more movies,” Pattinson said. “I would love to do it.

The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/The Batman, with Jeffrey Wright playing James Gordon, Paul Dano playing the Riddler, Zoe Kravitz playing Selina Kyle, Andy Serkis playing Alfred, John Turturro playing Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard playing Gotham D.A. Gil Colson, and Colin Farrell playing Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin. The Batman is set to hit theaters on March 4, 2022. You can also check out four new character posters below.
