A new trailer and poster have been released for The Beast, the upcoming action thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson as the President of the United States and Joel Kinnaman as a Secret Service agent. The movie is directed by Renny Harlin, the filmmaker behind Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Deep Blue Sea, and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. The Beast arrives in theatres on October 9, 2026.
The Beast puts Samuel L. Jackson in the Oval Office, but this time the President isn’t waiting for someone else to save the day. When a militia of unidentified hostiles coordinates a coup against the United States, the President is forced to take control of the heavily protected presidential limousine known as The Beast. He must uncover the vehicle’s highly classified offensive capabilities while trying to save his injured Secret Service agent, reunite with his wife, and save the country.
The concept puts a high-tech spin on the familiar action movie scenario of a President being thrown into a dangerous situation. Jackson has already played a President who found himself in the middle of an action movie in Big Game, but The Beast gives him a different vehicle to work with.
The film also reunites Harlin with Jackson following their work together on The Long Kiss Goodnight, Deep Blue Sea, and Cleaner.

The Beast is arriving at an interesting time for Harlin, who recently launched a new podcast with his wife, producer Johanna Harlin, called Harlin House. The podcast gives Harlin an opportunity to look back on more than four decades in Hollywood and discuss the realities of making movies, including projects that fell apart, working with major stars, the challenges of production, and the lessons he has learned throughout his career.
The newly released second episode should be of particular interest to fans of Harlin’s filmography, as the filmmaker discusses his experiences making Die Hard 2 and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master.
