There are some movies that no matter how many times you remake them they will be bad. For example THE BLOB, in which the 1958 version and the 1988 version were boring and overtly campy. So I guess it’s a good idea that Chad and Carey Hayes (THE REAPING) are going for a big revision of the material.
Apparently the brothers are going a more humourous and over-the-top route with the material, as it would be B.L.O.B. – as in "Biological Lethal Organic Bomb". Although the details of the plot are still unknown (outside of the creature element), Chad Hayes recently had this to say about all of it: "We stepped away for bit. We thought about it, because you want to pay homage to those creature features. It was just fun and we thought what if our own government created this thing? It got out in the ’50s, we know what it did then and we know how to contain it. Now let’s say, it’s stolen, like, from North Korea or something…"
