The Boys season 3 will include Herogasm episode

If you've been paying attention to the last two seasons of The Boys, you'll know that the series rarely pulls its punches when it comes to raunchy content and over-the-top violence, but there is one storyline from the comics that many believed the TV series wouldn't touch — Herogasm.

Each year, Vought brings together all of their superheroes under the guise of a fake crisis that needs their attention, but in reality, the superheroes are actually taking part in a huge orgy at a remote tropical resort where anything goes, and I do mean anything. The Boys creator Eric Kripke has previously teased that he would be trying to bring Herogasm to the screen, and it seems that they'll be doing just that for the upcoming third season.

Jessica Chou, who penned the episode in question, added that it "was an honor to write this ep and work with @therealKripke and the other amazing #TheBoys writers to craft this glorious madness!" I'd say that I can't wait to see it, but that just seems like a weird thing to say.

The Boys takes place in an America where the planet's superheroes have been morally corrupted by their celebrity status and often take advantage of their powers in reckless displays of behavior which threaten the safety of the world. Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) runs a group of vigilantes known as The Boys, who do what they can to keep watch over the superheroes, and, if need be, eliminate them. In addition to the third season, there's a spin-off series in the works as well that will be set at America's only college for young adult superheroes run by Vought International. The upcoming series is set to be scripted by The Boys executive producer Craig Rosenberg and has been described as "an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. Part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire and raunch of The Boys."
