Hitting DVD and Digital Download this October 11th is ARENA, starring TWILIGHT’s Kellan Lutz, and Samuel L. Jackson.
The film does not really look original, kind of like a GLADIATOR type but more modern. On the plus side it looks brutal as hell, and seems like a decent nights viewing. The film is the directorial debut of Jonah Loop who served as the Visual Effects Supervisor for films such as TRANSPORTER 2 and COLLATERAL.
The action thriller Arena centers on a young man (Lutz) who is kidnapped by a sadistic mastermind (Jackson) and forced into a modern gladiator arena, where men fight to the death for the entertainment of the online masses. Kim is playing a fellow prisoner, an artist who happens to be a master of kendo (samurai-style sword fighting), a skill that comes in handy when he competes for his life and his wife’s.
Nina Dobrev, Daniel Dae Kim and James Remar will also star.
