While I haven’t seen a single episode (but word on the street is that My Man Eric has a backlog saved on his DVR), the CW’s THE VAMPIRE DIARIES must be doing pretty damn well, because I’m almost certain that its success is starting to bleed out into other projects for the network.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the CW has greenlit BETWIXT, a new series based on the novel of the same name by Tara Bray Smith. So what the shiznit is BETWIXT? Check it out: [BETWIXT] revolves around “changelings” in an urban setting who are responsible for saving humans from evil.
Sounds… amazing. Really. Truly. Totally. Amazing. I can’t even speak I’m so amazed. Oh, but it gets better. Apparently the writer of THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS is adapting the novel for the small screen. See. This little bitch just got a whole lot cooler. Right.
I thanked THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, but really I should be thanking TWILIGHT for this push of teen horror novels making their way to TV and/or the movies. Who knows… maybe it’ll turn a few 12 year old girls into big time horror buffs later down the line, and that wouldn’t be all that bad… would it?
