The Dark Fields: Relativity in – Universal out; Release date pushed back!

Last month Eric informed us all that Neil Burger’s THE DARK FIELDS had secured a January 2011 release date. Well folks we can throw that shite right out the window!

It was announced today over at Variety that Relativity Media are opting to distribute THE DARK FIELDS themselves rather then leave that task to Universal. This move comes courtesy of Relativity’s recent acquisition of Overture Films’ distribution and marketing operation.

So what does this mean for THE DARK FIELDS? Not much but the flick is getting pushed back a couple months. The new release for this little diddy now sits on March 18, 2011! So this shite is back to it’s original release date? Like I said… not much of a difference but we’ll roll with it.

THE DARK FIELDS follows a down-and-out writer who gets his hands on a top-secret pharmaceutical drug that makes one smarter. He experiences sudden financial and social success but soon discovers that the drug has lethal and lasting side effects. Before long, mysterious antagonists are pursuing him.

Sounds good to me! The flick stars Bradley Cooper (above), Robert De Niro, Abbie Cornish and Anna Friel (below).
