The Dark Tower is far from dead! Budget cut down dramatically – will get made!

So it was just a few months ago in August when we learned that Ron Howard and Brian Grazer weren’t giving up on the highly anticipated adaptation of Stephen King’s THE DARK TOWER, regardless of the budget for the project skyrocketing and the whole thing being shelved.

Well it seems Grazer has been altering this thing left and right because according to IndieWire the super-producer has cut a dramatic $40-$50 million from the budget! What does that mean? Well according to Grazer it means “It’s gonna get made!” Check it out from Grazer himself:

“We found a way to cut out $45 million out of the budget without changing the scope and actually giving it a good ending. In the $140 million draft, the ending wasn’t quite as satisfying. Now, we’ve got $45 million, $50 million out of the way and a really satisfying ending. It’s gonna get made.”

So there you have it folks. It looks like THE DARK TOWER may be back on track after all, with Javier Bardem still attached to star in the film. Of course we’ll be keeping a close eye on any more updates regarding the long-awaited adaptation so check back soon for more news as it comes our way.
