The End of Summer

With it being August already, it’s time some of us start facing the facts: summer is almost over. While this is a bummer for most, it seems like the perfect idea for Platinum Dunes, who just announced their next project (collaborating yet again with Rogue Pictures): SUMMER’S END.

That’s right folks, the Dunes are not going the remake way the next time around, but with an original script by Jeremy Passmore. So what the shit is SUMMER’S END about? Check it: a group of teens in a small Oregon town survive a deadly virus that wipes out the adult population and must fight for their lives when the military attempts to quarantine the area.

Cool beans! Killing of adults but somehow keeping teens alive- sounds like a party! Dunes regulars Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will be producing, and we can only hope it doesn’t turn out anything like THE HITCHER remake, which certainly ‘looked’ good, but fell flat everywhere else.

Also to note (and somewhat unrelated), Passmore was also just hired to rewrite THE PRINCE… for John Carpenter to direct! Yippee! More on both these flicks as we hear it- stick around!
