It was inevitable, and yet it still stings… if just a little bit. Anchor Bay Entertainment announced today that the Blu-ray version of Sam Raimi’s THE EVIL DEAD will be available to all those who own the 45 previous DVD releases of the film this August.
Understandably, the film has never been released on Blu-ray, so it’s not a double-dip in the true sense of the word, but… this sure as shit feels like yet another double-dip, feeding off the plethora of fans the film has built up over the years. And yes, they’re gonna sell a shitload of copies.
The special features on the Blu-ray includes…
Ok, hold the phone. A new commentary by Raimi, Tapert, and Campbell? I guess this isn’t just your average double-dip after all. The new cover art isn’t anything to call home about, but it’s still pretty cool, and who cares, really? This shit’s on Blu-ray now with all-new commentary, and that’s all that really matters.
Be sure to pre-order your copy of the new BLU-RAY RIGHT HERE, and get ready for THE EVIL DEAD in stores (and in High Definition) August 31, 2010.
