While THE EXORCIST is no doubt a movie that helped define a genre and will stand the test of time as perhaps one of (if not THE) greatest horror movies of all time, the same cannot be said for its sequels. The first sequel, THE EXORCIST 2: THE HERETIC, is considered one of the worst films of all time, while Part 4 was made twice (you know we'll tackle that one down the road).
As for Part 3 we had two versions: the Studio reshoot version which was released in cinemas THE EXORCIST III (OWN IT HERE / WATCH IT HERE) and then Blatty's Director's Cut which was released on disk by Shout Factory LEGION THE DIRECTOR'S CUT!
William Peter Blatty, who wrote the novel the original film was based on, made a pretty good sequel that, itself, ran into many post-production difficulties. So join us as we look into WTF Happened to THE EXORCIST 3???
