Oxide Pang, one half of the directing team that brought us THE EYE films, as well as Ghost House’s THE MESSENGERS and both BANGKOK DANGEROUS and its remake (pictured right; hilarious), is embarking on a solo stroll with SLEEPWALKER, a 3D thriller that has just started production in the director’s native Hong Kong. The budget is in the $4.5 million range, and it’s set for delivery in the second quarter of next year.
SLEEPWALKER follows the twin stories of a woman tortured by mysterious dreams and a policewoman with an unsolved murder case. The film will star Lee Sinje (who starred in THE EYE for the Pangs), Charlie Young and Huo Si Yan.
Meanwhile, THE CHILD’S EYE 3D, which Oxide Pang co-directed with his brother, will screen at AFM this week, after which hopefully we’ll get word on whether or not it’s coming to our neck of the woods…
