This week we've been hearing rumblings – boosted by JASON LIVES: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI cast member Vincent Guastaferro and JASON GOES TO HELL: THE FINAL FRIDAY director Adam Marcus – that there is a new Blu-ray box set in the works that will bring all twelve films in the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise together. (Which is necessary, since the previous Blu-ray box set is out of print.) The streaming service has unveiled their April lineup of new additions, and among them are FRIDAY THE 13TH, FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2, FRIDAY THE 13TH PART III, FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER, FRIDAY THE 13TH: A NEW BEGINNING, JASON LIVES: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI, FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD, and FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VIII: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN.
Sure, they're missing four of the movies, but they're making up for that by also featuring the epic documentary CRYSTAL LAKE MEMORIES: THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF FRIDAY THE 13TH, and SMOKE AND MIRRORS, the documentary on special effects legend Tom Savini, who worked on the first and fourth FRIDAYs.
The eight FRIDAY THE 13TH movies will be available to watch on Shudder as of April 1st.
