The Following’s Kyle Catlett joins Poltergeist remake; Nicholas Braun in negotiations for key supporting role

Last night we shared the news that "Mad Men" star Jared Harris had joined the growing cast of MGM and FOX 2000's upcoming remake of POLTERGEIST and today we have some fresh casting news as Variety is reporting that "The Following's" Kyle Catlett will go from being terrorized by serial killers to being spooked by ghosts in the Gil Kenan-helmed film.

Catlett joins the previously announced Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt in the Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert produced reimagining of the 1982 Tobe Hooper horror classic.

That's not the only bit of casting news we have for ya this morning as The Wrap is reporting that rising actor Nicholas Braun (pictured below) is in negotiations for a key supporting role in POLTERGEIST. Braun is currently filming the lead role opposite Mackenzie Davis in Sony’s genre movie THE KITCHEN SINK, which wraps at the end of the month and will be released Oct. 24, 2014. His past credits include THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER, THE WATCH and Kevin Smith's RED STATE.

“The story follows the Bowen family, whose life is suddenly disrupted after a supernatural force takes over their home and begins terrorizing them.”

Catlett will play one of the Bowen children. Braun is being eyed to play one of her grad students who visually documents the investigation and quickly sheds his skepticism regarding what’s really going on inside the Bowen home.

POLTERGEIST is expected to head in front of the cameras this fall.
