The Force Awakens with new character promotional art

If there's one thing a STAR WARS flick is never going to run short of, that's promotional material. While fans eagerly await the next trailer for THE FORCE AWAKENS, a slew of new character posters have arrived that are very reminiscent of Olly Moss' artwork for the original trilogy (seen at the very bottom). Check out the heroes and villains of THE FORCE AWAKENS below and take special note of the color palette.

Interesting to note that Daisy Ridley's Rey is sporting the same colors as the two villains here. A subtle nod towards her future or just the artist's preference? I'm willing to go with the latter, but it's exciting to think how these characters might grow over the course of the new trilogy (and beyond). Given that Rian Johnson (LOOPER) is helming Episode VIII, I don't doubt that he's going to take us into some darker territory. In the meantime, we'll have to see where John Boyega's character poster is hiding…

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS will hit theaters on December 18th.

Do you think THE FORCE AWAKENS posters hold a candle to these OT ones by Olly Moss?
