Today is a day where we thank our lucky stars that there are distribution companies like Anchor Bay, who has just picked up the distribution rights to Christian James’ FREAK OUT!
Yes, the critically raved and reviewed low budget horror flick, one that has taken 4 years to get to this point, all shot on 16mm film, is hitting DVD shelves in all of it’s ambitious glory this spring through Anchor Bay.
James, Dan Palmer and Yazz Fetto, the brainchilds behind the film and the production company Beyond Therapy Entertainment, were all first time filmmakers who hit it big with FREAK OUT, as it has won acclaim from film festivals and critics alike all around the world.
And did I mention Arrow in the Head’s own John Fallon has a small role in this flick, as the voice of The Loony Doll? Well, he does, and that alone should at least pique your curiousity if nothing else will! The flick also stars James Heathcote, Dan Palmer, Nicola Connell, Chili Gold, and Yazz Fetto.
Least to say the filmmakers behind FREAK are estatic, and being picked up by Anchor Bay couldn’t have made them any happier. As Fetto puts it:
“This year alone we have travelled thousands of miles to festivals such as FanTasia in Montreal to Cannes and all over
England
taking FREAK OUT to university campuses and getting an amazing
student
response to the movie. It may not sound it, but at times it was pretty
tough
going and news like this has made every journey worth it.”
