The gang’s all here in new Downton Abbey poster ahead of tomorrow’s trailer

If, like me, you still need someone to explain the difference between a salad fork and an oyster fork, you can be relieved to know that the masters of etiquette and protocol will soon return to let the rest of us know what slobs we really are. As a big fan of Downton Abbey during its original run, I'm more than happy to spend a little more time with the Crawley family in their upcoming big-screen debut. Almost the entire original cast has returned for the film, including Hugh Bonneville as Robert Crawley, the 7th Earl of Grantham, Michelle Dockery as Lady Mary, Elizabeth McGovern as Cora Crawley, Countess of Gratham, Laura Carmichael as Lady Edith, Brendan Coyle as John Bates, Joanne Froggatt as Anna Bates, Allen Leech as Thomas Branson, Jim Carter as Charles Carson, Phyllis Logan as Elsie Hughes-Carson, Rob James-Collier as Thomas Barrow, Maggie Smith as Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess of Grantham, and many more.

Focus Features have released a new poster for DOWNTON ABBEY and also announced that we'll be getting a brand-new trailer tomorrow.

The DOWNTON ABBEY film will take place in the autumn of 1927, close to 18 months after the final episode of the TV series. Director Michael Engler has previously teased a few plot details, saying, "Life is settling into these new realities when this event happens at Downton that brings everybody together. The storyline has expanded the scale of it. It takes the things you love about Downton — the romance, the intrigue, the pageantry — and makes it bigger." Thanks to the trailer which debuted at CinamaCon last month (which will likely be the same one we get tomorrow) we know that the event in question is the arrival of King George V and Queen Mary to Downton Abbey.

DOWNTON ABBEY will hit theaters on September 20, 2019.
