Apparently the film won’t be a remake at all… but a direct sequel! Hey… it’s WAY better than a remake.
The film is titled THE GATE – 20 YEARS LATER. No word on a premise yet, but we do have word on the director – effects wizard Randall William Cook. Cook is actually the guy who won multiple oscars for something he worked on involing a Lord and a Ring or something… so this is some pretty sweet news! Having Cook tackle little pint sized demons from Hell? I’m down!
The original starred Stephen Dorff and Louis Tripp as youngsters who open a gate to Hell in their backyard, which unleashes said little demons. I’m assuming this sequel will have the same basic demons, except with a new group of kids. Who knows though.
THE GATE – 20 YEARS LATER is coming from H2O Motion Pictures with MMC Studios backing as co-financier through it’s Independent division.
