Well, chalk another villainous role up for the great Bill Nighy…
According to Variety, Nighy is setting his sights on the main baddie in Lakeshore Entertainment’s I, FRANKENSTEIN. As you know, Aaron Eckhart headlines the Stuart Beattie film, the script for which Beattie adapted from Kevin Grevioux’s graphic novel.
In addition to Nighy (above), Aussie actor Socratis Otto has also been added to the cast, set to play one of Nighy’s evil henchman. No further specifics on their parts have been divulged, but soon enough I’m sure. Anyone who’s seen Nighy in UNDERWORLD or PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN knows, when he wants to be, he’s not a man to be trifled with. Expect the same here.
I, FRANKENSTEIN is a modern-day epic: Frankenstein’s creature, Adam (Eckhart), has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.
I, FRANKENSTEIN holds a February 22, 2013 release date.
