The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special trailer finds the team kidnapping Kevin Bacon for Christmas

Marvel Studios and James Gunn are bringing lots of holiday cheer to Disney+ this Christmas with The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Plot details have remained a mystery until today. Thanks to The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special trailer, we know the tale involves the galaxy’s biggest A-holes kidnapping Kevin Bacon to bring a smile to Star-Lord’s face!

In the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special trailer, Sean Gunn’s Kraglin Obfonteri informs the Guardians that Christmas is right around the corner. However, the gang is aware that one of their teammates, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), is feeling down in the dumps after the loss of Gamora. Wanting to bring some Christmas cheer his way, Mantis and Drax decide to visit Earth to kidnap one of Star-Lord’s idols, Kevin Bacon. After breaking into Bacon’s cheerfully decorated home, the Footloose star makes a mad dash for safety, but Drax and Mantis give chase.

In addition to the hilarious Kevin Bacon sequence, the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special trailer depicts a holiday-themed party with many special guests, our first look at Cosmo the Spacedog (Maria Bakalova), and a more mature version of Groot.

James Gunn directed and wrote the special one-off presentation, which he told RadioTimes is “the greatest thing I’ve ever done in my life.”

“It’s totally ridiculous, and every day we can’t believe that we’re making it. We all completely love it. It is unlike anything that anyone’s ever seen before. I can’t wait for people to see it,” Gunn added.

What do you think about the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special trailer? Will a pre-Infinity War Gamora somehow return in time for Christmas? Do you think Marvel’s holiday special includes any more special guests? I’m getting some Nightmare Before Christmas vibes from Drax and Mantis’ plan. It’s like when Lock, Shock, and Barrel kidnapped Santa Claus!
