In an interview with FEARnet, the writers behind the upcoming LAST EXORCISM, Huck Botko & Andrew Gurland, discuss what they have in store for the future. Their main project seems to be THE OTHER WOMAN, which they’ve set up with Eli Roth and Strike Entertainment (the same team behind THE LAST EXORCISM, pictured above). The thriller will try to put a new spin on the p.o.v. gimmick, which EXORCISM trots out as well.
“It’s like Fatal Attraction but from the point of view of the mistress,” Gurland said. “A mistress making a documentary about an affair she’s having with a married man. She starts to go crazy and wreaks havoc in his life.”
To be honest, I actually think the idea has potential. You could go lots of very weird, disturbing places with the faux-documentary angle in this case, but like with anything else, the writing has to be solid – and the lead actress would have to nail it. Or just be convincingly off her rocker. Lotta chicks will have that down pat…
