The Lois Lane effect

After ringing in the new year with Christopher Walken talking about how he wore a watch up his ass for 2 years, this next news comes as a surprise.

According to Moviehole, Erica Durance aka Lois Lane of Smallville fame has signed on to star in the sequel to the Ashton Kutcher time-travelling thriller THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT. Granted, Kutcher won’t be in the sequel, but another leading dude will assume a similar role to Kutcher’s, which will detail a character realizing that they can travel through time, and through changing past events, the character finds out the changes have unexpected consequences in the present.

In the article, it details that the film will mainly be filled by Canadians (since the film is being shot in Vancouver) and will be directed by John Leonetti (MORTAL KOMBAT ANNIHILATION). The sequel will also have nothing to do with the first film. Ms. Durance, who was chosen over several other actresses for the role of Julie, will be on the set from January 9th to February 7th.

Now, I never saw the first film, partially because it didn’t appeal to me, and because I don’t like Kutcher. Granted, the film was successful, and warranted a sequel for some reason, so perhaps I’ll check it out. It’ll be at the bottom of my list, but it’ll be on there.
