The Long Night trailer: Scout Taylor-Compton horror film gets February release

Well Go USA will be giving director Rich Ragsdale’s horror film The Long Night a theatrical and digital release on February 4th. In anticipation of the film’s release, a trailer has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above. Check it out to see if this is a movie you’ll be adding to your “to watch” list next month!

Scripted by Robert Sheppe and Mark Young, The Long Night stars starring Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Nolan Gerard Funk (House at the End of the Street), and Deborah Kara Unger (The Game) in the story of

a devoted couple whose quiet weekend takes a bizarre turn when a nightmarish cult and their maniacal leader come to fulfill an apocalyptic prophecy.

Need more information than that? Here’s a longer synopsis:

While searching for the parents she’s never known, New York transplant Grace (Scout Taylor-Compton) returns to her childhood southern stomping grounds with her boyfriend (Nolan Gerard Funk) to investigate a promising lead on her family’s whereabouts. Upon arrival, the couple’s weekend takes a bizarre, terrifying turn as a nightmarish cult and their maniacal leader terrorize the pair en route to fulfilling a twisted ancient apocalyptic prophecy.

The Long Night has been rated R for Violence, Language, Some Disturbing Images, and Nudity.

What did you think of the trailer? Will you be watching The Long Night in February? Let us know by leaving a comment below. I tend to watch anything that has Scout Taylor-Compton in the cast, so I’ll be checking this movie out as well.

In addition to directing music videos and feature films, Rich Ragsdale is also a composer who has worked on such projects as Eight Legged Freaks, Alien vs. Predator video games, and the Fight Club video game.
