The Lost Boys director Joel Schumacher to helm suspense thriller The Hive

Robert Stein and Michael Helfant’s Troika Pictures has announced a number of new projects, the most interesting of which is a suspense thriller entitled THE HIVE. The film will be helmed by Joel Schumacher (right) from a script by Rich D’Ovidio (THIRTEEN GHOSTS).

Schumacher has quite a mixed track record, ranging from cult classics to awful Hollywood dreck. His resume includes such pictures as THE LOST BOYS, BATMAN FOREVER, BATMAN & ROBIN, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, PHONE BOOTH, THE NUMBER 23, ST. ELMO’S FIRE, 8MM and BLOOD CREEK.

So what is THE HIVE about? The film centers on an emergency operator who must confront a killer from her past to save a young girl’s life. That’s all we know right now, but we’ll keep you updated.
