The magic is back in Mary Poppins Returns sneak peek and character posters

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

We all need a little magic in our lives, and thankfully, Mary Poppins herself will soon be returning to help us all out. The upcoming MARY POPPINS RETURNS serves as a sequel to 1964's MARY POPPINS, taking place several decades after the events of the original film. Michael (Ben Whishaw) and Jane Banks (Emily Mortimer) are now grown, with Michael having three children of his own, and when the family suffers a personal loss, Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) returns to help them find the joy and wonder missing in their lives. A new sneak peek of the Rob Marshall has been released which teases us with a few spectacular visuals and toe-tapping songs.

Disney has also released a series of character posters, featuring Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack, Meryl Streep as Topsy, Julie Walters as Ellen, and Colin Firth as William Weatherall Wilkins. Check those out below!

The official synopsis for MARY POPPINS RETURNS:

In Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns,” an all new original musical and sequel, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives following a personal loss. Emily Blunt stars as the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any ordinary task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Lin-Manuel Miranda plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.
