The Mandalorian third season will be strong with the Force

Over the course of two seasons, The Mandalorian has proven to be quite the treat for Star Wars fans, with plenty of references (both minor and major) to the rest of the saga as well as introducing audiences to fantastic new Star Wars characters, so anticipation is high for the upcoming third season.

While we still have The Book of Boba Fett ahead of us before The Mandalorian returns (more on that later), it's never too early to start theorizing on what the new season will bring us. The Mandalorian executive producer spoke with Good Morning America yesterday, and while he naturally couldn't drop any big details, but he did possibly hint that we haven't seen the last of the Jedi.

There's a lot of new adventures coming up. I have to be careful, I can't really say anything specific, but I think the Force will be strong with this, let's just say that.

The last season introduced more Force-sensitive individuals, most notably Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), so it stands to reason that either or these characters could return, particularly as Luke Skywalker is currently training Grogu. Of course, this could just be Dave Filoni's way of saying the new season will be quite good, which is just fine with me as well.

In the closing moments of The Mandalorian season two, we saw Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) returning to Jabba's palace, where Fett killed Bib Fortuna and took his place on the throne. A title card then announced that The Book of Boba Fett would be coming to Disney+ in December 2021. The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau explained that this project will be separate from The Mandalorian. "We wanted to hold this back because we didn’t want to spoil the surprise during the big Disney announcement for all the shows.. and so they let me keep this one a secret," Favreau said. "This is actually separate from The Mandalorian Season 3. The Book of Boba Fett is currently filming, and then we go into production after that with Season 3 of The Mandalorian, with the main character that we all have known and loved (played by Pedro Pascal)."
