The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers season 2 will skate onto Disney+

Grab your gear from the Lost & Found, practice your duck call, and save room for more of Logan LaRue's signature pancakes because The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers has been renewed for a second season at Disney+. Production on Season 2 is set to begin in early 2022.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers stars Lauren Graham, Emilio Estevez, Brady Noon, and a rag-tag cast of misfit teens, who are set to take the Mighty Ducks name to new heights in the upcoming season. The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers tells a new story about the world of youth sports today. Crazy pressure from parents, kids specializing too early, and being told that if they're not on track to go pro by age 12, DON'T BOTHER. In present-day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan Morrow is unceremoniously but by the Ducks – a team he's played for practically his whole life – he's heartbroken. His mom, Alex Morrow, has had enough. It's time to form a new team and show the Ducks how to really fly once again.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is executive produced by the original film’s creator Steve Brill, and Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith will return as showrunners/executive producers on the second season. The cast also includes Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Kiefer O’Reilly, Taegen Burns, Bella Higginbotham, and DJ Watts.

Personally, I had a blast with the first season of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. Yes, it was a little hokey at times, but I'm also a 40-year-old dude watching a show designed for a new generation of fans. In my estimation, Game Changers harnesses the spirit of the original film while also introducing some new twists. I'm excited to see the Ducks hit the ice in a new season and can't wait to see who hits the rink for a sweet cameo.
