THR claims that Jonathan Rhys Meyers (right) is the latest in talks to star in Harold Zwart’s THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS. If he agrees, Meyers will play Valentine Morgenstern, described as a powerful but insane Shadowhunter looking to make the world pure at any cost.

Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray, discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons.
