The Offer trailer: New limited series presents a complex look at the making of The Godfather

It’s the year of The Godfather, and Paramount+ has unveiled a trailer for a series you won’t be able to refuse. In addition to releasing a 50th-anniversary edition of The Godfather on 4K Ultra HD on March 22nd, we now have a full trailer for The Offer, a ten-part limited series depicting the making of the classic film. The Offer trailer presents an intense journey through the film’s production, and you may never look at Coppola’s movie the same way again.

The Offer is centered around Godfather producer Al Ruddy and will be based on “Ruddy’s “never before revealed experiences” during the production of the film. Miles Teller stars as Al Ruddy (who took over the part from Armie Hammer), with the series also featuring Matthew Goode as producer Robert Evans, Giovanni Ribisi as Joe Colombo, Colin Hanks as Barry Lapidus, Juno Temple as Bettye McCartt, and Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola. The series has been written and executive produced by Michael Tolkin (Escape at Dannemora), with the real-life Al Ruddy also serving as an executive producer alongside Nikki Toscano (Hunters) and Leslie Greif (Hatfields & McCoys).

The Offer isn’t the only project revolving around the making of the iconic film on the way. Barry Levinson is also set to direct Francis and the Godfather, which will depict the “chaotic, Shakespearean behind-the-scenes drama” that took place during the production. Francis and the Godfather will star Oscar Isaac as Francis Ford Coppola, Jake Gyllenhaal as Robert Evans, Elisabeth Moss as Eleanor Coppola, and Elle Fanning as Ali MacGraw.
