The Palace: Hugh Grant joins Kate Winslet in HBO limited-series

Hugh Grant has joined the cast of The Palace, an upcoming HBO limited series which stars Kate Winslet.

The Palace will “tell the story of one year within the walls of the palace of an authoritarian regime as it begins to unravel.” Details on the character Hugh Grant will play in The Palace remains under wraps, but it’s said that his role will be that of a guest-star and not a regular. The cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts (The Old Guard) and Andrea Riseborough (Mandy).

The Palace was created by Will Tracy (Succession), who will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Stephen Frears (The Queen) will direct and executive produce. “We are honored to be working with this incredibly talented group of filmmakers on The Palace,” said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming. “The notion that Kate Winslet and Stephen Frears, two of our industry’s leading lights (who – remarkably – have never collaborated before now), are joining forces to bring Will Tracy’s wildly original, prescient, and dazzling scripts to life at HBO is a dream come true for us.

Hugh Grant will next be seen in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves alongside Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, and Sophia Lillis. The upcoming movie bring the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary role-playing game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure which follows a charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers who undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will hit theaters on March 31, 2023.
