Jon Bernthal The Punisher

The hype is building and building for the upcoming Marvel / Netflix series The Punisher, which will star Jon Bernthal as the title character, a.k.a. Frank Castle, a role he first took on in the second season of Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil series.

A new trailer for The Punisher has arrived online, and it features pretty much everything a fan of the character could ask for – copious amounts of gunfire, bloodshed, and The Punisher wearing the image of a skull on his torso as he wages a one-man war against the criminal and the corrupt. Plus there's some Metallica in there.

The series' synopsis:

After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

Bernthal is joined in the cast by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Deborah Ann Woll, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Michael Nathanson, Jaime Ray Newman, Jason R Moore, Daniel Webber, and Paul Schulze.

Netflix is keeping the exact release date for The Punisher a secret for now, but the show will be on the streaming service by the end of the year. So no matter when it is, it's not too far away.
