With Matt off to spike his family’s eggnog, I’m here to step in and fill the void this morning.
As you’ve probably seen in the TV Spots and in Arrow’s review, WOLF CREEK is based on a true series of events (read: murders) that occurred in Austrailia in 2001. Bradley John Murdoch was recently convicted of killing British backpacker Peter Falconio and assaulting his partner, Joanne Lees, on the side of a Territory highway in July 2001. The bastard will spend the next 28 years behind bars, and won’t be eligible for parole until he’s 73. Coincidently, his trial was just starting when WOLF CREEK hit the theatres down there, and obviously the theatre was buzzing about the murders.
