The Resident Evil team has found a new video game to adapt: Monster Hunter

The long-running RESIDENT EVIL film franchise is purportedly coming to an end this January with the release of RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER, and the team behind those monster blockbusters is seeking their next video game-based project.

Reports are showing that writer-director Paul W. S. Anderson and producer Jeremy Bolt are looking into the Capcom property MONSTER HUNTER as their next digital tentpole. Anderson has already completed a script, and if the project goes into production, it will be around the same $50 million budget as the RESIDENT EVIL movies.

In the Monster Hunter game:

For every Monster, there is a Hero. An ordinary man in a dead end job discovers that he is actually the descendant of an ancient hero. He must travel to a mystical world to train to become a Monster Hunter, before the mythical creatures from that world destroy ours.
