The Road gets rated

One movie that seems to still be under the radar, yet everything about it looks and sounds to be awesome, is the John Hillcoat directed THE ROAD, starring Charlize Theron, Viggo Mortensen, and Guy Pearce. It’s been very quiet in THE ROAD universe as of late, though not too surprising considering it’s October release, but I would still figure there to be some new shit every now and again to remind us that it is, in fact, coming.

I don’t know if this qualifies, but I say it does. The MPAA took a look at THE ROAD and slapped it with an official rating this week. Can you guess what it is? Ok. I’ll just tell you. THE ROAD is rated R for some violence, disturbing images and language.

Surprised, aren’t you? No, not really. In the case of THE ROAD, I’d be more surprised if it were anything less than R, though I’m confused as to the description. Only some violence, or some violence, some disturbing images, and some language? I’m so confused.

Either way, THE ROAD will be coming at us in brilliant R glory and that’s all that matters. As a quick reminder, THE ROAD is a post-apocalyptic tale of a man and his son trying to survive by any means possible.
