Yesterday was quite the day for release date changes. Reports had UNDERWORLD 4 (no longer in 3D), PRIEST, and TAKERS all being pushed back a few months from their original release dates (HERE), while REPO MEN had its release date pushed up a few weeks (HERE). But wait… there’s one more!
Looks like the Leighton Meester starring obsession-style horror flick THE ROOMMATE has also been pushed back… way back… from it’s original September 17, 2010, date to February 4, 2011! Yikes! That’s what–almost a full 6 month push back? That can’t be good…
THE ROOMMATE also stars Cam Gigandet, Minka Kelly, and Billy Zane, and it goes a little something like this: College student Sara finds her safety jeopardized after she’s assigned to a dorm room with a new roommate, Rebecca.
Kelly is Sarah, Meester is Rebecca, and the whole thing is the perfect recipe for a movie to hit in September when school starts back up again, allowing for quite the opening weekend box office punch–even if it bombs and totally crashes afterwards. Now it’s this weekend a year from now… outlook is not good.
Stick around for more on THE ROOMMATE, and readjust your calendars from September to February 4, 2011.
