Network mash-ups? Has this really what viral marketing has become?
It appears so folks. Don’t believe me? Peep the pretty funny new video we have below, in which characters from AMC’s “The Walking Dead” (Norman Reedus and Steven Yeun) cross paths with the real-life personalities of E!’s “The Soup.” Comedy obviously ensues.
Not to spoil anything, but the clip kicks off with a dancing maxi-pad, armed to the teeth, showing down with Reedus and Yeun. Guns drawn, epithets hurled…pure absurdity!
Of course, all this works as lead-in to Sunday’s 90-minute premiere of Season 2. Early reviews are favorable, despite the worry that Frank Darabont’s departure and budget cuts would qualitatively stunt the series.
The skinny: AMC’s The Walking Dead captures the ongoing human drama following a zombie apocalypse. The series follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, who are traveling in search of a safe and secure home. However, instead of the zombies, it is the living who remain that truly become the walking dead. Jon Bernthal plays Shane Walsh, Rick’s sheriff’s department partner before the apocalypse, and Sarah Wayne Callies, is Rick’s wife, Lori Grimes. Additional cast include: Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Jeffrey DeMunn, Chandler Riggs, Iron E. Singleton and Melissa McBride. Guest stars include: Lauren Cohan (below), Scott Wilson and Pruitt Taylor Vince.
“The Walking Dead” premieres on AMC October 16th.
