The Teaser trailer for The Expendables 3 whistles while it works its action magic

The action gods of the ’80’s are back at it again and this time they’re bringing in some new “old” favorites into the mix. Sylvester Stallone‘s gaggle of badasses return in THE EXPENDABLES 3 next summer and now we have a teaser to whet our appetite for some more cheesy, over-the-top, asskicking action from the guys who pretty much shaped and molded our cinematic childhood. It’s a short, sweet, and catchy teaser, which is nice to see and more than enough to get me jazzed for the sequel.

Check it out:

Here’s the synopsis:

In THE EXPENDABLES 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

I had the pleasure of visiting the set for THE EXPENDABLES 3 earlier this year and look forward to sharing those exploits with you. In the meantime, I can say that I’m very much looking forward to this one, particularly with the inclusion of director Patrick Hughes (RED HILL) at the helm, who I think will breathe some fresh energy into the franchise. Toss in Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, and a pumped up Mel Gibson as the villain and you’ve got a killer line-up of stars kicking ass and blowing shit up. I’m stoked.

THE EXPENDABLES 3, starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Kelsey Grammer, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell, and Victor Ortiz, hits theaters on August 15, 2014.
