The Toxic Avenger remake: Peter Dinklage to star in Legendary production

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Peter Dinklage has signed on to star in Legendary's remake of the 1984 Lloyd Kaufman / Michael Herz classic THE TOXIC AVENGER (watch it HERE)!

It's tough to imagine a blockbuster-producing company like Legendary taking on a property like Troma's THE TOXIC AVENGER, this remake is probably going to be a lot less twisted and violent than the original, but I do have some hope it. For one thing, I think it's awesome that the remake is going to be directed by Macon Blair, who frequently works with Jeremy Saulnier and wrote and directed the great Netflix release I DON'T FEEL AT HOME IN THIS WORLD ANYMORE, and for another, Peter Dinklage is always cool.

The announcement of Dinklage's casting does not specify which character he'll be playing.

A contemporary reimagining of Troma Entertainment’s successful 1984 low-budget action comedy hit, THE TOXIC AVENGER is steeped in environmental themes and subverts the superhero genre in the vein of DEADPOOL. When a struggling everyman is pushed into a vat of toxic waste, he is transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends and his community from the forces of corruption and greed.

Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz are producing THE TOXIC AVENGER with Legendary.
