The trailer for Last Vegas looks like a geriatric take on The Hangover

Seeing the phrase Academy Award Winner in front of the names of four respectable actors should instill more confidence than the trailer for LAST VEGAS does. You have Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas, Kevin Kline, and Morgan Freeman headlining a movie together and yet it is hard to do more than be wary that this is going to be a golden years take on THE HANGOVER.

LAST VEGAS tells the story of four childhood friends who reunite to celebrate the wedding of their remaining single friend. They head to Las Vegas where chaos ensues. Now, I don’t see any dead hookers in this trailer but there are lots of bikinis and a very specific product placement for Red Bull. I cannot say if this is going to be a good movie or a geriatric GROWN UPS, but drunk Morgan Freeman did have me laughing.

Billy (Academy Award®-winner Michael Douglas), Paddy (Academy Award®-winner Robert De Niro), Archie (Academy Award®-winner Morgan Freeman) and Sam (Academy Award®-winner Kevin Kline) have been best friends since childhood. So when Billy, the group’s sworn bachelor, finally proposes to his thirty-something (of course) girlfriend, the four head to Las Vegas with a plan to stop acting their age and relive their glory days. However, upon arriving, the four quickly realize that the decades have transformed Sin City and tested their friendship in ways they never imagined. The Rat Pack may have once played the Sands and Cirque du Soleil may now rule the Strip, but it’s these four who are taking over Vegas.

LAST VEGAS is directed by John Turtletaub and also stars Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Mary Steenburgen. It will hit The Strip on November 1, 2013.
