The Weinstein Company are moving forward with Halloween 3, Hellraiser & More!

Whether you’re a fan or not there’s no denying The Weinstein Company have a firm grasp of the horror genre. I’m not saying their projects are awesome, oh no. I’m just saying these guys put out just as much random genre flicks as Platinum Dunes… with pretty much the same win-loss record. Now The Weinstein Company currently have two huge genre flicks heading our way in PIRANHA 3D and SCREAM 4 but that’s not what I’m here to talk about… Nope. I’m here to tell you all about a few other genre flicks The Weinsteins are getting ready to unleash on us!

Actually the projects I’m here to talk about aren’t anything new. These titles have been in the works for a while now, years even, and it seems The Weinsteins have finally sorted things out enough to get rolling on these projects once again. What flicks am I talking about? HALLOWEEN 3, HELLRAISER, CHILDREN OF THE CORN and SCARY MOVIE 5! Oh yeah! Alright, to be fair chances are you’re not stoked about any of these titles. Actually there’s a chance you’re down right disgusted things are moving forward on these projects once again… But hey, this is Hollywood… It’s almost like it has to happen, no?

The news comes at us via an article over at The Hollywood Reporter, which actually mentions various projects but we’re only concerned with the four mentioned above. Actually we don’t really care about SCARY MOVIE 5 but hey.. It’s our job. Now according to the article Bob Weinstein’s Dimension will be tackling the HELLRAISER and CHILDREN OF THE CORN remakes with HALLOWEEN 3 and SCARY MOVIE 5 also very much in active development. Unfortunately no details are known but at least it’s somewhat comforting knowing these projects are once again moving along… Yeah, comforting.

So what do you guys think? We’ve talked about these projects countless times here at AITH over the past couple years so what else is there to say? Hopefully we find out some details soon, like who’ll be tackling the respective projects. Then we’ll have more to talk about!
