The Winners of the 15th Annual Golden Schmoes!

The results are in!

The Schmoes have spoken and the winners of the 2015 Golden Schmoes are here! Two films dominated the wins this year, toggling between MAD MAX: FURY ROAD and STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. Both films took the majority of wins, including Favorite Movie, Best Sci-Fi Movie, Special Effects, and more. Overall, it appears that you guys were all about the sci-fi entertainment this year (and I'm right there with ya).

Surprisingly, THE REVENANT, which is the big favorite for the Oscars, took only one award, although it went to the one person most seem to think deserves it – Leonardo DiCaprio. Best Actress went to Brie Larson for ROOM, which is a solid win for an excellent performance. EX MACHINA, another sci-fi favorite this year, took home a Best Supporting Actress win and a T&A win for Alicia Vikander. Both well-earned for a really cool flick. Sylvester Stallone took the Best Supporting Actor award for CREED, which seems to be the overall fan-favorite choice. CREED also took BIGGEST SURPRISE, which is also well-earned.

MOST WINS @ GOLDEN SCHMOES (All-Time):

1. The Dark Knight (2008) 12
2. Return of the King (2003) 10
3. Inception (2010) 9
4. The Two Towers (2002) 9
5. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) 9
6. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) 7
7. Sin City (2005) 7
8. Fellowship of the Ring (2001) 7
9. Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) 6
10. Inglourious Basterds (2009) 6
11. The Departed (2006) 6
12. Pirates of the Caribbean (2003) 6
13. Memento (2001) 6
14. Drive (2011) 6

Females led the charge in terms of characters and performances this year with THE FORCE AWAKENS Daisy Ridley taking the Breakthrough Role award and Charlize Theron's Furiosa taking the Coolest Character award. THE HATEFUL EIGHT got some love with Best Screenplay, while the comic book adaptation sleeper KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE took home both Underrated Movie and Best Action Sequence for that badass church scene. Best Horror Movie went to IT FOLLOWS, while WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS took Best Comedy and INSIDE OUT took Best Animated Movie. Once again, Favorite Celebrity went to the lovely and goofy Jennifer Lawrence, continuing her hold on our hearts and minds.

Biggest Disappointment and Worst Movie of the Year went, unsurprisingly, to FANTASTIC FOUR, the Josh Trank directed superhero reboot that left folks fairly peeved at the final product. While it was a huge mover at the box office this year, folks seemed to feel that JURASSIC WORLD was the Most Overrated Movie of the Year.

Thanks to everyone who took part in the nomination phase and to all who voted in this year's awards! In the end, it's YOU GUYS who decide everything in the Golden Schmoes, from nominations to voting, so this is all about your perspective. Personally, I think you guys voted perfectly this year and can't dispute any of the wins.
