The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf posters introduce characters

We’re just four days away from the August 23rd Netflix release of The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, an animated prequel to the streaming service’s hit series The Witcher, and a batch of character posters have arrived online to show us some of the folks we’ll be seeing in the movie. In the posters below you’ll be introduced to Vesemir, Young Vesemir, Tetra, Luka, Deglan, Lady Zerbst, and Filavandrel.

Nightmare of the Wolf is coming our way from director Kwang Il Han, The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, and producer Beau DeMayo. The movie focuses on the character

Vesemir, the mentor and a father figure for Geralt of Rivia. The story will explore his early years as a Witcher after the mysterious Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprise.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf was made by Studio Mir, the Korean animation studio behind The Legend of Korra and Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender. Several months ago, a leaked image seemed to reveal that the movie has a running time of 81 minutes, but that exact time has not been confirmed.

Inspired by a series of novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. The show is an

epic tale of fate and family — the story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.

The second season of The Witcher will begin airing in December, so this prequel will help us get through the rest of the remaining four month wait. JoBlo’s own Alex Maidy got an early look at The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and gave the movie a 7/10 review you can read at THIS LINK.
