I can’t lie, the first trailer for THE WOLVERINE didn’t blow me away. It looked good, it looked fun, but it didn’t get me doing the movie pee-pee dance. However, this CinemaCon trailer, even at 60 seconds, definitely gets the juices flowing, especially with our first glimpse of Silver Samurai, who looks pretty damn bad ass from the few glimpses we see. THE WOLVERINE has had a tough go with the loss of Darren Aronofsky early on, but it appears that director James Mangold has paid careful attention to the task before him and I have faith he will put that unfortunate X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE mess behind us.

Take a look:

Here’s the synopsis:

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality.

THE WOLVERINE slices into theaters on July 26, 2013.
